Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?

First 45 single purchased by my own hand:
Can I also tag onto this that I'm currently completely obsessed with Timbaland! What the hell?
At about 1:48 into this video the most awesome thing you'll see today happens.
Sloan last night was AWESOME!
W and I got to the city with time enough to meet my friend Alison for dinner before the show. Clearly we had enough time and could easily time our entrance to the actual venue based on oh, say, the band also having dinner at the same place. So when the cheque came and they'd just left we knew it was time to go, too.
How can you eat that much and still rock 'n roll? That's my question!
There is a very, very specific demographic at a show like that, highlighted by the extensive use of hipster eyewear. Also: 38% Canadian (plus ~7% Faux-nadian). Tip to the guy wearing the Waterloo Engineering jacket - you didn't need to, I would have pegged you as Canadian anyway. You were the ur-Canadian there. Blind people who have never heard of Tim Horton's would have walked in the door, sniffed the air and said "Canadian at 11 o'clock". I make fun, but it was nice to be amongst my people.
Even though I got home and was in bed by 12:30 I am super wiped out today.
I dare you not to shake your ass:
My other big accomplishment today was to get tickets to see Sloan in April. I am very very excited about this as I missed them the last time they were here and I really love their new album (30 songs - insanity). Hell, I love all their albums. I don't think I'm into music enough to be really rabid about any bands in particular, but if I had to pick a favourite band it would be Sloan.
This is my favourite Sloan song:
I bought four tickets but it's just me so far. Anyone else love Sloan?

You know who totally rocks? People who get you tickets like these:
So, I need to keep myself awake for the late, dark hour when Axl takes the stage. God, I hope he's still doing the Axl Dance. PLEASE.To get in the spirit of the holidays I have scoured the depths of YouTube and bring to you, in no particular order (because I am at work and have to leave for a meeting shortly), the best of G'nR.
Rock on, my friends, rock on.
The other thing about this Skype headset deal is that it is totally freaking awesome for listening to music at top volume in my office. It has those big-ass earmuff headphones which means I can rock out to CHILLIWACK. And I am, oh yes people, I AM.
I have the cheesiest taste in music. All these cool music people like Krissy and Nyla scare me because I'm still into early 80s Canadian lite FM. We have our iTunes networked at the office so everyone can listen to my groovy tunes. (And some of them really like it. Shhh).
To share my crap I finally signed up to Last.fm - I'm 'marylynn' if anyone wants to be my music friend.
