I have all the planning and preparation that goes with any Community Emergency Response Team member. Including but not limited to a snazzy canary yellow jacket with a big logo on back.

In fact, I have a party to attend tonight for all the people who took the plunge and went into community service this year. What the hell, I'm proud.

`Which do you prefer? City life or country living?

City living. Because unless you are completely isolated, rural living means somebody is always up in your shit. Oddly enough, the more crowded an urban space you live in, the easier it is to be left alone.

Not even once. My first move was off to college.

QotD: Dining Out

How many times a month do you eat out in a restaurant? Do you wish you dined out more or less?

Probably more than I should. Then again, there's not much I won't do to get out of my chores, one of which is washing the dishes. Actually, it's a pretty fair split: when it comes to food, the wife is responsible for everything that happens before we sit down to eat (groceries, prep) and I'm on the hook for everything after (dishes, dishwasher, putting the stuff away, making sure there's paper in the toilet in case of chili or Mexican food).

I wouldn't mind dining out more, but it's expensive as hell and frequently entails having to leave the house again in the evening. If we lived in the city and I didn't have a backpack both ways, I would probably want to dine out every night.

All the fog the last couple of days has REALLY made me want to head to Park Chow up in the Sunset again...

QotD: Email vs. Telephone

If you had to give up either email or the telephone for the rest of your life, which one would your forgo?

God, this isn't even close. I would ditch the phone in a second, Google Voice or not.

QotD: Time Travel

If you could travel to any place and time for one week, where would you go?

London, 2012. Opening night and the first week of the Olympics. Not only will I enjoy the spectacle, I will also get a good line on who wins stuff, and when I get back to 2009 I can make a list and put some money down with William Hill or Paddy Power and then clean up big in three years.

What vacations would you most like to take in the next five years?

All I can think about lately is how badly I want to go on a big vacation and how I am so severely behind on big trips in my life due to falling in love with somebody who grew up thousands of miles away from me. Too much time and money has been spent on traveling to the same frigging state over and over (and over) again and not seeing the world like I promised myself I would.
Where do I begin? In no particular order:
Australia and New Zealand
Thailand and Cambodia
Costa Rica
Buenos Aires and the rest of Argentina
Japan
China, just about all of it
Alaska
Vancouver and the rest of British Columbia
